This is not for the faint hearted. This is meant for those into action, constant overtaking, power slides and competition at the maximum level. If that is you, you cannot miss this trip! EventGo offers you a weekend to the European Rallycross Championship race held in Greinbach (Austria).
Rallycross races, very popular in the countries of middle and northern Europe, are held in small circuits which usually have mixed surfaces (gravel and tarmac). The races involve from 6 to 10 cars at a time. These vehicles, whose technical specifications are very similar to the N and B Group Rally Cars, can reach power levels in excess of 500 HP and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. These may not be the Group B Rally Cars that once dominated the category, but they are not what you would call sluggish, really!
Usually, competitions consist of several eliminatory races whose winners compete in a grand final race. Races are very short and do not allow the competitors to open wide gaps between them, which ensures fierce competition among racers.
All the thrill involved in these races is difficult to portray and, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. So we have uploaded a video with images of the Greinbach rallycross race of 2011 to let you see what rallycross is all about.
